Overview:

One important facet of Operation Bagration was the utilization of the large number of partisan bands that operated behind German lines. Soviet High Command planned to utilize the partisans to strike a decisive blow to the transporation network by destroying rail lines, discovering and capturing needed river crossing, and controlling critical towns and other vital areas. The partisans were eager to show their mettle in capturing and assisting the rapidly advancing Soviet armies. One important river crossing was near Glusk, on the river Ptich.

2023-06-18(D) Vic Lauterbach vs JM Partisan winThis little scrap was a bloodbath (CVP Allied 33, Axis 27) with lots of interesting variations of CC. Jim's partisans finally found their matches in GT6 and used MOL to good effect vs. my vehicles! I just missed the GT5 VC, losing the bridge that turn (and hexes I1/I4). The GG5/GG6 entry point looked good but getting past the H1/I1 choke point proved impossible (although the fight was very exciting). I'd try Y10 next time. Jim's comment: Play like every partisan is expendable but expect it to still be close. Both 20L's breaking early and never getting fixed helped (and my sniper killing the German 8-0).
