Overview:

At dawn, as part of the encirclement of the Poles at Radom, the 3rd Leichte Division sent a kampfgruppe toward the town of Ilza. The remnants of the Prussy Army had been located in the vicinity of Ilza, heading east toward the Vistula, using the only good road in the sector. Around noon, Kampfgruppe Ditfurth arrived at the village of Pilatka, a few miles from Ilza, drawing heavy fire from the nearby heights of the “Old Redoubt”. . .
Attacker: German (Elements of the 9th Schützen-Regiment, 3rd Leichte Division (Motorized))

2024-06-15(A) Jobbo Fett vs JobboFett German winA very aggressive German setup saw quite a few breaks (and ELRs), but they managed to constantly rally broken troops. The Poles, on the other hand, could never get back to the fight after being taken out, and the artillery missed any devastating hits (on top of drawing a Red card on its second draw.)

The Germans ran up the hill to the surrounding hexes of X5 and the Poles simply couldn't stop their movements. I chose to Final Protective Fire instead of waiting for the CC Phase, but the IFT rolls were pitiful and high. An early Turn 3 victory awaited.

Definitely feels like the Poles should have gotten an extra squad...

2018-11-18(A) Jeff B vs Will Fleming German win3.5 hrsGermans have to move fast to get positioned on the hill before Polish reinforcements arrive. This will be tough as they have a lot of open ground to cross against OBA. Thankfully my 9-2 and his MG nest swept the hill of defenders. Had a BH squad not broke on Turn 3 an early Turn 3 victory would have been mine. Unfortunately for the Poles they lost OBA access at a crucial time and Germans had more than enough force to storm the hill and wrap one up on Turn 4.
