Overview:

Following the successful ambush the previous day, where the 2/30th had wiped out several hundred Japanese troops almost without loss, Gen. Bennett decided to follow up the success. D Company, commanded by Captain W.S. Melville, was ordered to advance and occupy a small hill near the Gemenach River to block the enemy reinforcements. However, the Jap build-up had been faster than anticipated, and enemy troops were already occupying the Aussies' start line. But it was too late to call off the attack. . . .A true classic. Australian troops launch one of the few attacking actions during the retreat to Singapore. Supported by artillery, the Australians must attack across two boards to cross a road. The Japanese get support in the form of tanks and fighter-bombers.
