Overview:

The war was nearly over and only the elite troops of the German army were offering much resistance. One last push by the Allies would ensure the final defeat of the Nazi regime. The US Third and Seventh Army assignment in the final offensive was to capture the Saar-Palatinate, an area second only to the Ruhr as a source of Germany's war-making muscle. Opposing them would be the German Army Group G. The area contained much rugged terrain with only a handful of accessible routes. Along one of those routes traveled the 7th Infantry Regiment of the veteran US 3rd Division. A key obstacle along this route was the village of Uttweiler guarded by the 17th SS Panzer Grenadier Division. Soon after the commencement of the final Allied western front offensive, the two units clashed heavily when the SS troopers launched one of the few successful late war German counterattacks.

2024-07-28(D) nathan wegener vs Larry ZoetAD American winOpponent had a nice attack to flank and reach the rear w passengers. Unfortunately that left his STGs isolated and I nailed one when my TDs entered. He couldnt push past the initial 3 buildings until turn 3 and I was able to retake a couple. Very fun seesaw battle.

2015-07-24(A) Michael Rodgers vs Rich Domovic American winI had Germans with a tournament ABS balance that upgraded one American squad. I had 4 buildings at turn 1 end, and 5 buildings at turn 2 end, but I made the mistake of trying for too many buildings. Americans had little trouble taking back the buildings.
