Overview:

After the Germans turned westward from the Seine on June 9th, the Highlanders were trapped with their backs at the sea. The British formed a defensive perimeter on the 10th around St. Valery and awaited the Germans who arrived the next day. The Germans were greeted by machine gun and AT gun fire and responded with several bayonet charges. The German tanks were ably supported by mortar fire directed from the air and although the Brits were able to hold out all day, the cost was too much. They received orders to withdraw to the Dunkirk beaches where they were to be rescued by the Royal Nvay but this was not destined to occur, as the Germans beat them to the shore. 5,200 men and officers were marched into captivity. . . .A nice little tournament sized scenario pitting the British against the Germans in France. Featuring boards 23 and 49 this is a neat little scenario that can be played in an afternoon. The Germans get infantry, a few tanks and aerial observer directed OBA while the British get infantry and some AT Guns. The British will have some defensive maneuvering to do to keep the Germans out of the victory buildings.
