Overview:

At 0630 hours on the 22nd of December, Panzer Armee 6. made its last serious attempt to achieve its flanking mission in the Elsenborn Ridge area. Disdaining the simple and costly tactics of the other German units, the experienced SS-Panzergrenadier Regiment 26. was going to probe for weakness and then thrust for penetration. In the midst of a swirling blizzard the SS troopers approached the village of Butegenbach for a final assault.
Attacker: German (SS) (Kampfgruppe Kuhlmann, SS-Panzer Division 12)
