Overview:
On the extreme right flank of the Afrika Korps was Leichte Afrika Division 90, polyglot formation containing mostly halftrack-borne infantry and towed guns, but also equipped with many specialized vehicles. With orders to strike deep, Leichte 90 either rolled over to around any resistance it encountered. After bypassing the Bir Hakeim positions, the division turned north in a maneuver to cut off the southern Commonwealth forces from the main defenses and supply lines of Tobruk. Late on the afternoon of the 27th, troops of the Leichte 90 ran into the outer "box" defenses in the vicinity of El Adem.Attacker: German (Sonderverband z.b.V. 288. and Panzerjager Abteilung 605., attached to Leichte Division 90)
