Overview:

While RCR clung tenaciously to the roadside a mere half-mile south of the town, Brigadier Graham had committed his remaining battalion. He sent the 48th Highlanders to take Valguarnera by making a long right hook. The Toronto regiment was to launch its final approach on Valguarnera from a ridge two-miles south of the town, but when the Highlanders arrived they found the ridge to be strongly held by the Germans. Enemy snipers and machine-gunners pinned down the Toronto infantrymen for long minutes, until an English-born corporal took matters into his own hands.....

2022-07-02(D) Robert Wiebe vs Canadian Canadian winAnother playthrough, this time Dave's Canadians approached from the North using the dense terrain. This playthrough also came down to the last turn, as the Canadians rushed up and over the hill to attack the Germans in depth. Rather than take my limited chances in CC, I opted to FPF all my units and half of them broke as a result. If I had played a little smarter I might have eeked out a win. Like digging in the reverse slope with a couple of units for some extra protection. I also completely blanked on using the 6 ? counters as dummy stacks to throw Dave off.
2022-06-25(D) Robert Wiebe vs Canadian German winDave's Canadians took the southern approach, avoiding the wooded hills to the North. Came down to the last sets of die rolls, but the Canadians didn't have enough to secure the hill. We messed up the SMOKE rules from the Lt MTR's so there wasn't as much smoke as could be, but the GE HMG's could not achieve any RoF, so the Canadian approached in strength.
2020-01-13(A) Andrew Luden vs Rick Luden Canadian winLopsided victory for the Canucks in no small part to a better rolling average, but the highs and lows made for a hilariously cinematic scenario. Turn 1 the mortars dropped smoke allowing the Canucks to clear the first board unscathed, and followed with a hail of fire on turn 2, and a bold rush by the 9-1 leader to engage (and then silence) one of the HIP HMGs before a full court press through the northern forest. Won it in 4.5 as the Germans simply couldn't resist the overwhelming force across a narrow frontage at close range.
2012-03-31(D) Jeff Waldon vs Frank Tozier German winVASL
2012-03-31(A) Frank Tozier vs jwusmc German winVety tough Victory Conditions. Canadian has too face alot of -2 or more fire from the Germans.
