Overview:

Following a valiant defence of Isurava Village in late August, the Australians withdrew south, relentlessly pursued by the Japanese. The Japanese Nankai Shitai (South Seas Force) under the command of Major General Horii, were eager to inflict a devastating defeat on the Australians. Isurava had hurt Maroubra Force, but it was not broken. Brigade Hill is an impressive mountain ridge roughly halfway along the Kokoda Trail. Mission Ridge extends from its north face like a nose. The eastern face is very steep whilst the western face is only slightly less so as it drops down to the Fagume River. It was here that Brigadier Arnold Potts, Commander of Maroubra Force, was ordered to stand and fight the advancing Japanese.
Attacker: Australian (2/14th and 2/16th Battalions and HQ Detachment, 21st Brigade)

2022-08-01(D) Alex Ashton vs Martin Barker Australian winMartin gave me an absolute schooling in the use of smoke and comfortably overwhelmed my positions. By successfully peppering my defensive position with smoke he was able to nullify my defence as he stormed up the hill.
Resigned after 4 turns.
2021-04-15(D) Simon Staniforth vs Australian winIJA lose a key CC - despite ambush vs a couple of CX squads they gack the roll and on the return attack 1.5 squads are eliminated. The risk of HtH CC! Thus they lose one of the hills and whilst the game was close they never recovered from this set back

2015-01-19(A) Bill Brodie vs Steven Bond Japanese winBoy, did I get a kicking. Worked up to the three hills occupied by the Japs, took two and threatened the third when his reinforcements stormed up hill I owned at start and wiped my forces there out without breaking a sweat. I had nothing that was close enough to take it back. Steve was hot on his dice, and played aggressively to take advantage of his opportunities.
