Overview:
The German offensive had been stopped and Bastogne dislodged. The Allied forces pressed hard on the German troops and 506th PIR assaulted the elements of 9. Panzerdivision in Foy northeast of Bastogne. The assault was over a mile of open ground and once there Lt Dike was reluctant to push on and the company began taking losses. Winters appointed Spiers of Dog Company to take over. He pressed on and personally made contact with the reduced I Company which assaulted from the flank.Attacker: American (E Company, 2nd Battalion, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 101st Airborne Division)
