Overview:

After fighting off patrols from von Poncets’ mountain troops near Andelva, the Torkildsen Battalion withdrew to the next position at Minnesund, where they skirmished with Germans on 13 April. That night, they were relieved by Kp.5 of II/5th IR. The German objective was a road/railway bridge in Minnesund, and the road from the south ran through a thickly wooded area. Norwegian troops manned a roadblock on this road as an outpost for the main position. They were attacked before 0600 the next morning.
Attacker: German (Elements of Stossgruppe Schlicter (IV./Gebirgs-Jäger-Regt. 139) and Pionier Battalion)

2015-10-05(A) Michael Rodgers vs Jeff DeYoung Norwegian winThis scenario requires some thought by the defender of where to put the roadblock that the German must eliminate. Logic says to put it on the wooded board, but it is legal to put it on the more open board and then try to fool the German to waste his time looking for the roadblock on the wooded board. Jeff chose to put the roadblock on the wooded board, as far away as possible from the turn 1 Germans. Not only do the Germans need to eliminate the roadblock, they also need to exit units from where they entered for VP, or eliminate/capture Norwegians for VP. This scenario also features reinforcements for both sides that enter from interesting areas; such as Norwegian reinforcements entering from the German exit area. Jeff’s troops were able to delay the at-start Germans enough that I could not capitalize on the broken Norwegian units, so they rallied and made it difficult for my sapper reinforcements to approach the roadblock. After three turns of play, I felt I could no longer win this game.

Daniel Takai (Germans attacking) vs Peter Palmer (Norwegians defending) in DB107, "Stossgruppe Schlicter"
My Norwegians managed to eke out a win by denying Daniel's Germans room to exit enough VP. AS the game came down to the clutch, my dice warmed up and the channeling effect of the Exit VCs meant I was able to generate some decent FP on the exit routes Daniel had to take while his MC dice were going cold.

Daniel is a joy to play against, and is a rapid player. If anything it was my play which was slow in our game. But we managed to finish the game in one session, though it went to the last Movement Phase.
2013-10-16(D) Alessandro Demichelis vs Federico Corso Norwegian winVCs a bit dicey with roadblock removal, the German needs an accurate play.
