Overview:

To form a defensive zone ahead of the vulnerable beachheads, parts of the 82nd Airborne Division wasdropped during the night before the main landings. But poor coordination, friendly AA fire and bad weather all made the operation a very difficult one. The paratroopers found themselves scattered far from their planned drop zones, but formed small isolated groups that harassed Axis patrols and lined of communications, according to their mission. The Germans had only one unit in the area, but quickly committed the reforming Hermann Göring Panzer Division to battle, desperate to gain the initiative. . . . . An innovative scenario that takes place during the 1943 invasion of Sicily. The Americans form two groups of paratroopers that "land" on the map prior to the start of the scenario via a simple Scenario Special Rule (SSR) that scatters them in random directions. The defending Germans can have up to six groups of reaction forces enter the map at various times and from various directions. The available German forces include one Tiger tank and two armored cars.

2025-06-29(A) Kermit Mullins vs Dan Best German win1.33 hrsWhat an awful scenario. Wow...I'm going question whether this was really play tested. Very tough on the Americans. On top of rolling badly, my Americans were just hit from three sides and annihilated. Germans are too powerful and the ability to attack from anywhere really makes a defensive effort tough. Did not enjoy this one and would not recommend.
2024-10-23(A) Nicolas Leste-Lasserre vs American win
2024-02-13(D) Justin DiSabatino vs D German winI really enjoyed this scenario, both in the drift nature of the American troops arrival and the ability of the Germans to choose which units are sent. The Americans landed one group around the small village and one group around the wooded hill to the east. The Germans opted to delay 2 groups in order to bring on 2 more, leading with an infantry group approaching from the northwest. One American 7-4-7 and the mortar managed to delay/break the Germans, rendering the German effort ineffective until the Turn 3 reinforcements. Once they arrived, it became a push against time. The armored cars are great in encircling the Americans and limiting their movement, though the LATW meant the ACs kept their distance. All in all a very close game with no clear leader, down to the final German turn.
2023-05-15(A) Andreas R vs Jenny American win
2023-01-15(D) Anton Shishkin vs Tatiana Kazantceva American winBalanced to Americans. Germans chose armoured trucks as an one of reinforcements and all (!) of them got 12 while were trying to Fire MA and AAMG and recalled. So Epic fail!
Then Germans circled Americans but one squad with bazooka survived.

2021-12-23(A) Larry Davidson vs Brian Devitt German win
2021-10-31(A) Craig Renier vs Chris Brechin American winThe American paratroopers earned a victory over the German forces in this fun scenario. The paratrooper initial drops were accurate enough to allow the Americans to set up a strong defense. The first German units to enter were caught in an unexpected clear LOS and broke under DefFF. The Germans were able to make slow advances, but time began to run out. With no other options, the Germans made a final desperate assault to dislodge the defenders. But low American IFT rolls followed by high German MC rolls sealed the German fate.
2021-04-29(A) Vilis Pavulans vs Jakob Gruvaeus German winJakobs final SK-scenario before we´re taking off. He whooped me as expected despite a somewhat shake beginning. The germans chose to bring in four groups on turn 3 so when they got in, there was nothing I could do with 7 ML troops surrounded. Still a very fun scenario.
2021-02-08(A) Jonathan Townsend vs Myself German winThese encircling scenarios are really difficult for the defender...perhaps I chose a too static defense.
2020-11-08(D) Scott Fischbein vs Richard Matheson German winAnother fun game with Richard, who's learning very fast! This was his first game with vehicles and ordinance. This is a tough one for the Americans, and it seems like their best bet is to spread out and make the Germans chase them down. Richard took the opposite approach and ended up with a strong defensive position in the center of the map. Sadly, it was not strong enough to survive the onslaught of the German reinforcements (I delayed the maximum of two groups so I could have four groups coming on in turn 3). The Tiger and AC were able to do some damage, and even with a disabled CMG on the AC, they got him surrounded and had PB shots at his final stronghold, while the tough Elite German infantry closed in for the kill. A fun scenario and a neat way to emulate the randomness of a paradrop using the SK rules.
2020-11-02(A) David Garvin vs Loic Gourdon German winThe high point for me was a critical hit on his Tiger, destroying it. That said, Loic pressed hard on me and was able to eliminate most of my men through the Failure to Rout option. Very well done!
2019-12-08(A) Vilis Pavulans vs Kalle Widell American winVery fun game! Love the randomness and the variation possibilities. The game was very close and a victory for the germans seemed certain up until the last shots of the game where the yanks had two squads left and one had a bazooka. The german had only two armoured cars that could get in to do something and one got blown away by the bazooka and the last one forgot to close the hatch. Small arms fire cought the crew which rolled boxcars. We had a small discussion about that and agreed to see what would have happened if the hatch would have been closed but despite the fire from the armoured car, the americans made their MC and got the victory. One of the best games so far.
2019-09-03(A) M T vs American winI liked the paradrop SSR setup and the variable German force. A tough battle, came down to the last die roll. Recommended.
2019-06-26(D) Javier Rodrigo Ballesteros vs My friend American win
2019-02-10(A) davide galloni vs Alle American win
2018-03-30(A) Tripp Killin vs Sebastian Killin German win I gave Sebastian (Germans) the balance of an extra turn (7). He needed it, just barely.
Americans dropped NE and SW of the town. Goal was to cover long stretches of road from woods and village. Germans entered one group on Turn 1, and the max remaining groups on Turn 3.
My plan was to force him to cross open ground, and then retreat squads in divergent directions, hoping to force him to split.
At end of Turn 6, I had two GO Squads and a BAZ within 3 hexes of on hex of the road (grain field and building south of village), but everything else was broken or dead. Turn 7 saw the rest of the Amis destroyed or broken for the German win.
Americans get overrun, but the VC are very tough on the Germans. You need an American player with the fortitude to hang on as everyone dies.
2017-11-11(A) Seumas Hoskins vs Dean American winDean chose to have one group to start, coming in from the NW. The Americans mostly all landed right around the circle of roads. With Dean trying to come up over the hill the Americans were able to lay down suppression effectively. On turn 3 the German pincer attack with reinforcements began, lead by the tiger tank. Several bazooka shots into the tiger kept bouncing, but the tiger MA jammed on its second shot. a small group of Americans were able to preposition to met the reinforcements from the east, catching them in the open when they tried to rush in. Dean conceded on turn 4 with most of the German force broken or malfunctioned.

2013-05-02(D) O Ramaille vs German winThe US paratroopers resisted at first but when the germans came from different directions with AFV support then it became more and more difficult.
Not a chance for the americans.
2012-02-03(A) Scott Muldoon vs John Bays German winGood scenario with highly variable setup. I took the balance and still lost though :-/ Need to make sure your BAZ and MMGs support each other.
2012-01-20(D) Kermit Mullins vs Scott Waites German winGermans came in on turn one with two infantry groups. One group entered into waiting US paras. High rolls by the US allowed them to survive and as of turn three things are getting interesting.
