Overview:
On October 28, 1944, Stalin made the fateful decision that Budapest must be taken as soon as possible. The German High Command, recognizing the Soviet threat, had already begun to deploy its troops and by the 1st of November had moved to the Kecskemet region, south of Budapest. On October 30th, the Soviets launched their offensive. A massive artillery barrage was followed with a Russian Rifle Corps and Mechanized Brigade slamming into the defending Hungarian positions.Attacker: Russian (Elements of the 37th Rifle Corps)
