Overview:
It was at the flanks of the 34th Guards Regiment where the Germans directed particularly heavy attacks. One thrust penetrated the Dolgyi Gully and came out in the rear along the riverbank. Another ttack broke through along Tambovskaya Street, reaching Naberezhnaya Street near the bank of the Volga.
