Overview:

The newly formed 4th Marine Division was making its combat debut in the Kwajaein Atoll. The first wave was to hit Beach Green 1 on the left while the 2nd Battalion, 4th Marines hit Beach Green 2 on eastern half of Namur. The Marines initial objective was a road known as Succotash Blvd., approximately 100 yards from the beach. Their primary objective was the main road, Sycamore Blvd., that bisected the island about 400 yards from the landing beaches. Debris and thick underbrush and several concrete bomb shelters remined to give the Japanese cover. These had to be cleared before the island could be secured. The 2nd Battalion was making good progress when a Marine demolition team, thinking it was reducing just another bunker, unknowingly detonated the Japanese torpedo warhead magazine. The massive explosion rocked Namur, sending a mushroom-shaped smoke plume 1000 feet into the air . . . Can you clear the Japanese out of their bunker before the torpedoes explode? dr starting Turn 3 for possible detonation

2009-06-10(A) Ian Willey vs MacRob American (USMC) winThe Torpedo Mag is a great design for effect rule and it hurt me. Looked grim two turns from the end but the dust from the explosion helped me (dispite the marines that it wipped out). Suddenly I was taking ground and killing Japs. Went from will just play a bit longer to total win in 1.5 turns
