Overview:

There was chaos in Poland with invasions from two different directions. Wilhelm Rueckermann decided to head to Wlodawa with the Korpus Ochrony Pogarnicza (KOP) forces he had currently available. On the way, he ran into the Soviet Army. Rueckermann chose to fortify and make a stand in the village of Szack. T-26 tanks spearheaded the Soviet attack with motorized infantry in support. The Polish forces held their fire until the enemy tanks and infantry were at point-blank range, and then opened up with anti-tank guns.

2024-08-10(D) Jobbo Fett vs RootinPutin DrawAn interesting scenario that features some harsh choices for the Polish when setting up their defense, but one that both players agreed needs a little more time in the oven. The reinforcements the Russians get have quite a lot of freedom, making any defense especially hard, along with the attackers having a great selection of leaders. The T-26 M33s, sans machine guns, was also a curious decision that neither of us appreciated - they are essentially only to be used for overruns or as fodder - or if you love being a stick in the mud and creating arguments, sleaze freeze and/or voluntarily abandon them at the objectives. The Polish reinforcements can easily be picked off with a lucky shot or proper defending, defeating the purpose of their inclusion. Our game was very tight by Russian Turn 5, and running out of time for the night we decided to call it a draw. The Polish force had a good grasp on 2 objective buildings, and it would have come down to the dice to see whether the Russians take it or not. Lastly, the Polish kept getting massacred in CC's - my dice simply weren't up to the task.

2018-10-11(D) X von Marwitz vs Michael Koch Polish winInteresting scenario in which I had the Polish. The Russians came through the center with their Schwerpunkt. The Polish reinforcements bound some of the Russians and some of the Russian reinforcements in the back, as is probably intended in the scenario design. It was mostly MGs that dealt with the Russian tanks. Luckily for me, two of them malfed their MA. On the ohter hand my ATR was broken on the first shot and X'ed out on the first repair dr. Altogether, I managed to stop the Russian onslaught. Roughly around turn 5, it became apparent that the Russians would very likely run out of time to fulfill their VC.
