Overview:
UPDATED VERSION -- A little more than a week after the invasion of Poland, German units of the 10th Army were at the gates of Warsaw. Despite some panic and confusion, the citizens were urged to help with anti-tank ditches and defenses. The 4th Panzer Division was tasked with penetrating the city in the Ochota district although not well-suited to the task. Awaiting these forward elements were guns and soldiers of the Polish 29th Infantry Division. They had moved into the district the previous evening and the guns were aimed over open sights to cover the area's avenues with deadly crossfire. The war's first contest over Warsaw was about to begin.Attacker: German (Panzer-Regiment 35 & 36, Panzer-Division 4, Infanterie Division 217)
Defender: Polish (29th Light Artillery Regiment and 29th Infantry Division)

2024-08-05 | (D) Jobbo Fett | vs | Rob W. | Polish win | Rob simply could not catch a break in the first two turns. One roadblock completely skewed his plans for his armoured vehicles, and by the time they advanced up towards my first set of units on the bottom board (the only true units on that board) the two ATRs set off to work and promptly started turning them into smouldering wrecks. It also helped that my HMG was positioned to shoot right down the main road bisecting the map, stalling out any German infsntry advance. Tenacity and persistence finally managed to score some building locations for Rob, but by turn 5 they'd simply lost too much and needed to control so much more of the board than they had that the Germans threw in the towel. Definitely fun for either side, provided the dice dont abandon you. A nice selection of vehicles and SW to make your way through some tough defenses. The Polish side has a nice exercise in defensive setup and payoff at play here!
2023-09-28 | (D) O Ramaille | vs | Gerard Vendervelden | A | Polish win | The German attack was slowed down by roadblocks and wire forcing the Panzers to find a way through and to become targets to the Polish guns. The Guns and ATR were quite efficient in eliminating the panzers. The western Polish wing eventually collapsed and Germans began to control several stone buildings. However, fate during an innocent rally from a German half-squad provided the 50th CVP required to the Polish victory. A good scenario with several options for both sides. But the German player must give his best to win this one even with the balance.

2021-02-07 | (A) Martà Cabré | vs | Sebastiano Caltabiano | German win | I attacked with the main forces in the center and used a couple of vehicles and a stack of engineers with the 9-2 on the west to clear that zone. My right flank went smooth but the center was really slow with lots of wire and fortified positions. I tried to use the vehicles but the Polish guns kept destroying them (7 destroyed!) so I had to hide them to avoid the CVP cap. Finally by sheer firepower the Polish line kept retreating until I could assault his defense line with just in time for the engineers to reach my center and attack the Poles from the rear. After my first CC won and with one foot in, the Poles conceded in Turn 6 of 7.
