Overview:

The 47th Infantry Regiment had captured the town of Schevenhuette, a defensive position that formed a part of the larger “West Wall” line that Hitler was counting on to defend greater Germany from the Western Allies. The Allies were not in position to consolidate their gains in this sector because Operation Market- Garden commanded the supplies necessary to sustain an offensive. Not content to watch the Allies reduce their defensive positions one by one, the German launched a counterattack aimed at restoring their line.

2026-04-24(A) Stephen Solomon vs Josh Ours American winI lost as the Germans. Solid German advance on both flanks for two turns, but Yankee rallies while under DM prevented a clean breakthrough. Multiple times the Germans moved adjacent en masse, ready to CC for the breakthrough, but an insane number of PIN results drastically changed the CC calculus and the Germans demurred. By the time Building I7 fell, there was no path to victory once the Sherman and the 9th ID "kitchen personnel" joined the battle. I conceded end of Turn 5.
2026-02-03(D) Justin DiSabatino vs American winThe Americans set up with a forward defense, ready to punish the Germans as they entered. The Germans managed to make some ground, but enough of the force was broken that it slowed down advancing. This was compounded as the Americans kept the broken Germans under DM while moving backward to take new positions, forcing the Germans to cross more open ground.

Still, the Germans had a solid chance by turn 4, the southern flank managing to push close to the center victory building while sending a stack sprinting for the building in the rear. They could not pull it off and the Americans held a solid position for the win.
