Overview:

Landing at 0330 a mile from the mouth of the Tusciano River, the 9th Royal Fusiliers were under fire from the moment they disembarked onto Roger Beach. Their objective was a small village at the base of a tall hill that was six miles distant. This village, Battipaglia, became known to the British as Batty-P. The late evening advance met scattered resistance, and the regiment soon found itself in and around Battipaglia. After a restless early morning, two companies of the Royal Fusiliers were assaulted from the north and east by a large force of panzergrenadiers and armor.

2018-06-27(D) Richard Carter vs Tim Deane British winwas able to knock out 3 stugs in first two turns with AT gun trained on the hills. Then was able to threaten the hilltops with a small force. Enough to divert the Germans such that their village attack force was weakened.

2016-12-17(A) Kermit Mullins vs Dan Best German winFantastic scenario that came down to the final close combat on the final turn. The Germans won that CC and the game. Really fun scenario.
2016-12-16(A) John Garlic vs Pierce Mason German win[Imported from ROAR]
2016-11-11(A) Dan Best vs Tony Pierson German winSniper took out the gun crew and German tanks rolled up that flank.

2015-12-24(A) Martí Cabré vs Jesus Pie German winA very good scenario. Germans have to make good use of terrain and combined arms. Also, this terrain with cactus, olives and vineyards is really hard for the vehicles. I had the luck that British AT guns were quickly disabled or smoked (after wrecking two tanks) so I could use the remaining tanks to help approaching the hamlet. Heavy firepower kept the Brits' heads down and I slowly took the key buildings. Using the vehicles to freeze the defenders and dropping lots of smoke I could cross the streets and take the buildings in heavy CC. In the last turn I smashed two tanks on two buildings in order to allow for units to approach and CC them, with a final tally of 4-3 to the Germans. Very good game!

2013-06-01(D) Davide Bendazzi vs Sergio Puzziello British winGermans resigned at the start of turn 3
2013-04-06(D) Jonathan Davis vs Al Saltzman British winCame down to the last CCPh. The Germans had to win only one of two very good odds Close Combats, and failed both.
2013-03-03(D) Simon Staniforth vs German win
2013-02-25(A) Lee Bray vs German winAs the Germans I gambled the British AT guns would be covering the flanks of the village and ecided on a concentrated armour and infantry push through the olive groves in the centre. This seemed to work and with fortunate use of smoke from the AFVs and more luckily taking out the OP tank just before it could convert the SR I managed to capture the necessary buildings on the final CCPh. I had to use the AFVs agressively (losing 2 into cellars) and if the OBA had come down I'd probably have run out of time. A very enjoyable scenario with interesting terrain.
2012-11-11(A) Luke Sineath vs Matt Pavone British winBritish won by driving their OP tank around my flank, and the observer SMC hopped out and was on the hill, on the last turn. I didn't expect that!
2012-09-22(D) Dan Best vs Wes Vaughn German win
2012-09-05(D) Andy Beaton vs Spencer Armstrong German winLost my OBA to a beautiful sneaky shot and just never managed to get a defence that would hold together. Outmaneuvered AT guns and malfunctioning PIATs kept me at a disadvantage.
2012-08-19(A) Richard Carter vs Mark Moore German winWas able to wipe out OBA early w/ an overwatch shot. He had an initial up front defense so My guys coming out sunken road and elsewhere were able to break a bunch early. One thing to be aware of the VC's are hex control not building control. I lost a couple of tanks to AT gun but still had plenty for final assault.
2012-05-13(D) Bob Callen vs Keith Spurlock British winAT gun on left side of town (German side of entry on turn 2) went berserk and killed 5 AFV--was hard for Germans at that point. OBA also effective, but real decision point was the inability of the German armor to put pressure on the flank due t effectiveness of AT gun.
