Overview:

German armor probed the Somme lines for weaknesses, which were rare. The French moved up the 4th Armored to both plug gaps and to counterattack in order to reach the Dunkirk pocket. It was too big a job, even for DeGaulle. Armored units were thrown away in small packets in a vain attempt to convince the Germans the Somme line was heavily defended. However, aerial recon had already laid this lie bare to the OKW.

2025-12-29(A) Jobbo Fett vs JobboFett German winThe French got to move first and, with plenty of confidence, approached the stone wall to try and make of it a defensive structure. Trying to emulate the blitzkrieg practices, the Germans opted to drive right up to the walls and attack the French tanks in their side from point-blank range, while a 3rd tank divided their attention and approached from the upper-left corner of the map and strike at the rear of the tanks.

The aggressive posture paid off and the Germans scored an early pair of kills, trading for the flanking tank being Shocked on turn 1 and turning into an UK'ed vehicle (containing the 9-1). There's a fun dynamic of German tank losses (with Leaders) forcing the Germans to be aggressive in order to secure more CVP. Multiple Hits aplenty for the Germans, and the French only lost their AP capability on the last tank near the end. (The tank was knocked out, but the crew escaped and was forced to rout and, eventually, eliminated for failure to rout. Tricky!)
2020-04-19(A) O Ramaille vs French winThree critical hits from the French tanks got rid of the German panzers despite their low mobility. Their superior armor was enough to prevent the poor Germans guns to cause any damage. With only a tank recalled from malfunctioning MA, the French won this encounter.
2020-03-15(A) Shane Pask vs German winSo many snake eyes! French moved first and took out a German tank on their first turn with a critical hit (including third roll of 1 when needing snake eyes to hit). However, Germans responded with a snake eyes to kill flaming 1 tank then another snake eyes to hit and snake eyes to kill to flame another. French turn 4 another 3 kill roll finished off the French after maintaining ROF on first shot. French managed to immobilise a tank but could not get behind it to capitalise on it. Another potential rear shot hit the turret (front) of a German tank and failed to make the kill. A quick scenario so may try again with hopefully more normal dice rolls.
