Overview:

After two months of heavy fighting in and around Shanghai, the Chinese Army was forced to retreat to the south bank of Suzhou Creek. Covering the retreat was the 524th Regiment of the Chinese 88th Division led by Lt.-Col. Hsieh Chin-yuan. The regiment held its positions around the Four-Bank Warehouse -- a reinforced-concrete warehouse owned by four commercial banks. In the middle of the burning Zhabei district, soldiers of the 524th prepared to write their own heroic destiny as thy faced the advancing Japanese Shanghai Expeditionary Army.

2024-07-28(A) Jeff Wright vs Joe Armold Japanese win
2023-10-26(A) Kevin Duval vs Dwayne DuvalA Japanese winI am sure without the balance the Japanese would not get the win. Went down to the very last CCPh.
2023-07-05(D) Jobbo Fett vs JobboFett Chinese winSurprisingly close after some good and bad luck for the Japanese force, especially a banzai charge half-way through the game that got mulched by the valiant chinese defenders. Multiple GUSTS allowed for Blazes to thrive, and collapse a few locations, though the Blazes were poorly placed to begin with. By the end of the Game, through very fast play and poor choices, the Japanese managed entry into the Factory despite the chances, but ultimately the final Fortified Location made it impossible for the Japanese forces to enter. I think the Japanese should get the balance, especially seeing the records on the right.
2023-03-30(A) keith Spurlock vs James Lancaster Chinese win[Imported from ROAR]
2020-09-07(D) Jeff B vs Steve Etzelmueller Chinese winProtect the flanks, start some fires, and stock the factory makes for a tough attack even for banzaiing Japanese.
2020-08-05(D) rene cote vs ranger Chinese win
2020-05-16(A) John Garlic vs Victor Rosso Chinese win[Imported from ROAR]
2018-12-26(A) Martí Cabré vs Txema Mainez Chinese winThe Japanese advance went quite well dislodging the Chinese from every position but then the fire against the fortified Chinese position achieved nothing for several turns. With two turns to end I launched several Banzai charges against the factory but Chinese machinegus just rolled several 2,1 rolls with the result of KIA to all Japanese attackers and helding ROF, something impossible to break. There were more than 10 Japanese squads KIA.
2018-09-26(D) Jonathan Kapleau vs Holland, Donald Chinese win
2018-07-10(A) Jeff B vs Phil Wentworth Japanese win4.75 hrsJapanese softened up the western defenses with some Level 2 prep and swarmed en masse. The central building was almost entirely covered in flames by the end of Turn 1. Japanese were on the factory doorstep by the end of Turn 2, having taken a boatload of prisoners along the way. Crossing the street would prove to take a bit more time however as the balance of the Chinese defenders had repositioned themselves to guard it. Turn 3 saw them knocking on the doors, but the Chinese had fortified the front of the building and there was no getting in quite yet. Turn 4 saw the Japanese consolidate their forces to lay as much firepower on the factory as possible. Turn 5 prep went about as well as it possibly could, and they finally got a toehold in the factory, while also applying pressure from the southern and eastern flanks. At this point there would be no stopping them, and by Turn 6 all Chinese defenders were eliminated or busted.
2017-11-12(A) Dan Best vs Mike Bistodeau Japanese win
2017-10-07(D) Richard Jenulis vs Kevin Mayer Chinese winASLOK 2017
2016-10-25(D) Bill Brodie vs Steven Bond Japanese winTalk about flames, half the board was on fire by the end. Tried my best, and killed a lot of Japanese, but lost to many units, and could not keep the Japanese out.
2016-03-12(D) Jim Kloss vs Bob Eury Chinese win
2014-12-03(A) Seumas Hoskins vs Chinese win
2014-12-03(D) Robert Zinselmeyer vs Jonathan Kay Chinese winBanzais galore, but I was able to whittle the Japanese down and won a crucial CC with the 8-1 & MMG surviving to secure the right flank. In the end the Japanese didn't have enough troops left to evict me from the fortified Locations.
2014-11-08(A) Miikka Sohlman vs Matti Holsti Japanese win
2014-09-07(D) Dave Mareske vs Sarah Sackett Chinese win
2014-06-22(A) Daniel Soukup vs Chris C Chinese win
2014-04-26(D) Dave Mareske vs Dan Best Chinese win
2013-12-27(D) Jeff B vs Chad Cooper Chinese winFanaticism played a key role in helping the Chinese cling to their factory.
2013-11-16(A) Andy Beaton vs Richard Hooks Japanese winRight down to the wire - CC casualties were incredibly high on both sides, but the balance tipped when the Japanese captured the Chinese HMG and set up a killer FG inside the factory.
2013-09-26(D) mark watson vs Jonathan Kay Chinese winThis is a brilliant PTO learning scenario. In our game the blaze had little effect. Every MG broke and was eliminated shortly there after. The Chinese won two crucial close combats and that saved the day.
