Overview:

After two days of fighting for Ginsterhahn, the 60th Infantry Regiment “The Go Devils” had secured the village. But there would be no respite. In the morning, Oberleutnant Paffrath commanding a kampfgruppe consisting of ten Jagdpanthers and infantry from the 11th Panzer Division’s escort platoon attacked to re-take Ginsterhahn. American artillery damaged four Jagdpanthers and thinned out the German infantry. However, the 899th Tank Destroyer Battalion, supporting the Go Devils, had an even more deadly surprise awaiting the enemy. As the Germans crossed the field north of Ginsterhahn, they were met by a fusillade of 90mm main gun fire from a platoon of M-36 tank destroyers.

My first JgPz tried to kill a TD only to burn of an APCR round. He also kept a MG on the church tower making my movements difficult. I did the same, though. My attacks were not perfectly timed and he could stop them quite well, including some massive morale failing on my part. At the eleventh hour there was a window of opportunity and I tried to reach for a building, running six squads, with all of them falling the devastating American firepower.

Panzers are tough on the front but brittle on the sides and they can be destroyed with APCR ammo, so it's a little risky. American infantry does not hold much against the German attack but they have to stall them and try to destroy the panzers even if they all break.
