Overview:
The end was in sight. The previous day the Japanese 4th Division destroyed the 41st Division of the Philippine Army (PA). This was accomplished with concentrated high altitude bombing missions and massive artillery barrages. This caused the Japanese High Command to move up the time table for the attack on Mount Samat. The main attack on Mount Samat was from the Japanese 61st Infantry Regiment with heavy support from the 7th Tank Regiment.Attacker: Japanese (Elements 7th Tank Regt. & 61st Infantry Regt, 4th Division)
