Overview:
After an attack out of Bourschied by the Fuhrer Grenadier Brigade was repulsed and the crossroad village of Heiderschied re-taken by GIs of the 1nd Battalion of the 319th Infantry Regiment, a new threat emerged. Colonel weber’s 79th Volksgrenadier Division along with recon elements of FGB came out of the woods to attack Heiderschied. When the German infantry failed to penetrate, Weber sent his light AA tanks and armored cars to drive up and down the main street, firing into American positions with desultory effect. . . . Danger close OBA might be needed to save the day for the GIs.Attacker: German (Elements 208th Grenadier Regt, 79th Volksgrenadier Division & 1124th Panzer Recon Co.)
Defender: American (Elements II/319th Infantry Regt., 80th Infantry Division & 702nd Tank Battalion)

2016-01-24 | (A) Bill Brodie | vs | Peter Manger | German win | Cancon 2016 A German attack against a U.S. force defending a village, part of which is on a hill. The Germans have to capture one of two designated buildings and have more squads south of a road that the U.S. Player at the end of the game. Squads on the hill count double. The U.S. Player gets to call down a 150mm harassing Fire OBA module on one of his own units on turn 5 or 6, which can stray a maximum of two hexes. My attack went well, pushing him out of both victory buildings, forcing him to bunker down on the hill with his remaining units. I forgot about the OBA, and moved my units in close, when he sprung the trap! However, the OBA did steady two hexes, directly to his rear, hitting all of his units and only one half squad of mine.. He resigned before rolling the results. Always great fun to play Peter, and he was certainly on the down side of luck in this game.

Was able to hunker down on the hill and repel all German attempts to gain a foothold.
