Overview:

At dawn on 23 March, the Hungarians attacked Slovakia without any declaration of war – catching the Slovakian army unaware – in an effort to grab land prior to the Slovakians signing a protection agreement with Hungary’s ally, Germany. They drove west quickly, getting as far as Závadka with little more than unsupported infantry units. Despite the confusion and with a real lack of leaders, the Slovakians were able to piece together some ad-hoc units and also managed to quickly repair several OA vz.30 armored cars which would lead their counterattack.
Attacker: Slovakian (Slovakian reservists with captured Czech armor)

2025-05-17(A) Dan Best vs Kermit Mullins Hungarian win2.5 hrs
2025-05-17(D) Kermit Mullins vs Dan Best Hungarian win2.5 hrsHard fought scenario. The Hungarians knocked out the armored cars by Turn 2 and stalled the Slovakian infantry until Turn 5, when they finally got into the houses along the road. Notably, a Berserk squad managed to get into the Hungarian backfield and sowed confusion. Dan and I both broke machine guns left and right. Dan's Slovakians ELR'd to the point of absurdity and then finally caused Dan to throw in the towel on Turn 6. His Slovakians were just being whittled down and the majority of his remaining squads were Conscripts. 2 ELR is tough to deal with sometimes.
2025-02-20(A) Johan Vrijdaghs vs Carter Adrian Slovakian win
2024-01-20(D) Jobbo Fett vs RootinPutin Hungarian winA lucky victory driven by bad luck on both sides. The Hungarian set up made the most of concealed units and the open ground the Slovakians had to run over. The conscripts never really contributed on the attack. Two berserks were generated, one on either side. The first failed an attack against a 1-3-7 hs in CC, while mine immediately rolled 12 on a MC. 4 total 12's on my part really hurt my side, but I was able to sacrifice space for time and by the MPh of Slovakian Turn 7, the attacker had had too many units break to prevent my own troops from running off-board and making victory impossible. Slovak-favoured, but perhaps not enough for the balance.
2021-02-19(D) Andy Bagley vs Neil Brunger Hungarian winShould be a good scenario, but the Slovaks never really got going in this one. Two armoured cars tried to run the gauntlet by driving straight through the village; both were lost to MG shots into their rear. Then their Turn 2 reinforcements were sliced up by a well-positioned MMG. And when their main force finally reached the village outskirts, they were faced with a line of concealed units which they lacked the firepower to break. Their only option was to charge across open ground, and whilst one or two units reached the buildings, many more were lost. The Slovak player conceded at the end of turn four, at which point they were outnumbered by the Hungarian defenders.
