Overview:

The Red Army mustered strength for an ambitious operation, aimed to destroy Army Group Center. The Kalinin and Western Fronts would press German forces westward from Moscow and simultaneously attack from the south and north to meet at Vyazma, beheading the invader in one fatal blow. The 8th Airborne Brigade would be dropped southwest of Vyazma to complete the encirclement.
Attacker: German (4th Panzer Army Support Troops / elements of 309th Infantry Regiment and 1st Batterie Strumgeschutz-Abteilung 201)
Defender: Russian (Elements of 2nd Battalion, 8th Airborne Brigade)

2018-07-04(A) Jason Wert vs Peter Rogneholt Russian winVery nice game with Peter for the CyberASL Match. Peter's counterattack in Turn 2 disrupted my attack on the German left. His cagey defense kept us unbalanced
2017-09-03(A) Ron Garcia vs Darryl M. Russian win
2017-03-24(D) X von Marwitz vs Martin Mayers Russian winPlayed this as the Russian. My plan was to yield the village as any Russian in there would probably soon fall victim to the Germans. So my defensive Schwerpunkt was in the G9/E9 area in the south and around L9 in the north. The ATG was placed back in the west and two squads were poised in the K3 woods area to hamper German reinforcements and to attempt to grab the I5 building later on. The at-start German HS were to be killed to have the Russian backfield cleared. The last stand was to take place either around the L9 building (providing hiding places in the woods) or the I5 building which would be hard to reach if I could overwhelm the German reinforcements from the west. It turned out, that all this pretty much worked out. But I have to state that my opponent was severly screwed by Extreme Winter breaking 2 MAs and 3SW, repairing one of these. On top of that, weather turned to Heavy Snow which worked out in favor of the Russians. It is an interesting scenario situation and thus recommendable to play. Extreme Winter can make it a bit dicey, though.
2016-10-04(A) Jeff Waldon vs David Perham Russian winFtF ASLOK: Lost, dammit.
