Overview:

Following the Allied D-Day landings on 6 June, 2nd Fallschirmjäger-Division was sent to the Brittany region of France, and took up defensive positions at Brest. Following Operation Cobra, the allied breakout from Normandy, Major-General Troy H. Middleton's U.S. VIII Corps hooked left from Normandy and attacked the Brittany region. The German forces in the region fell back on Brest, and Hermann-Bernhard Ramcke assumed command of the garrison, now known as Festung Brest. Commanding about 35,000 German troops during the Battle for Brest, Ramcke followed orders to hold out as long as possible, finally surrendering on 19 September 1944.

2020-07-20(A) Rob MacGinley vs James Short American winThis is a slow slug with the yanks having lots of toys and tanks but in reality the defence in depth almost stopped me - down to last turn
Want to use a 155 on wheels - this is the game - only got the one shot but it was worth it
Had to use a bulldozer (again a treat) to get it into position since wire was lining the road
2019-08-24(D) David Garvin vs Gary Fortenberry American winGreat game. Came to the final turn, but hey, it's Gary Fortenberry! :)
2017-06-26(D) Jeff B vs Brad Hampson German winI can definitely see why some people don't enjoy DASL, at least on the city boards. Defense in this game was a bit boring. Bodies up front to block the way and lay residual in the OG. Break and run if the Americans get within arm's length. Rinse and repeat. Americans are extremely fragile in this one as the 8 morale Germans should not be afraid to FPF.
2016-07-02(A) Rich Weiley vs Dave Wilson German winDiced for sides and got the U.S. I had planned a defence but had not given much thought to the attack. Weighted it very heavily on the U.S right. Dave had retained all the wire and used it to block the approaches to the VC building. This meant I was unable to effectively deploy all my troops on an already congested front and the piecemeal assaults I did launch were repulsed. Was fun to get to use a bulldozer, I probably attempted more clearance rolls in this scenario than I have in all games in the previous 10 years. Would like to try it again with a better planned U.S attack.
