Overview:

As part of the opening German offensive in the west called FALL GELB, the 400 men of Bataillon II, Infanterie-Regiment "Gorssdeutschland" were selected to land by 98 Fieseler Storch planes in the area of Nives and Witry, near the Belgain fort at Bodange. Known as Operation NIWI, this assault would place a sizeable German force behind Belgian lines in an attempt to disrupt Belgian communications and troop movements. Navigational errors and enemy fire scattered the German landings, but by 0600 the first wave of Germans was on the ground. The Belgian response was swift.
Attacker: Belgian (1er Régiment de Chasseurs Ardennais)

2020-11-28(D) Chris Anthony vs David Anthony German winThe Belgians started with a balanced attack against a forward German defensive line. The advance on the west was stopped cold before closing with the Germans. The advance on the east had better luck pushing halfway across the board before slowing. The Germans eventually broke in the east only to rally on the last turn. There were successful in keeping the Belgians from exiting enough VPs for a German win.
2019-02-15(D) David Garvin vs Brian Mckinley German win
2019-01-25(A) O Ramaille vs German winThe German defended high and broke several advancing Belgian units. The attack was slowed enough so that the Belgian troops were forced to rush forward thus exposing themselves to defensive fire. Despite some losses, the German prevent the allied to exit. A German victory with only 8 VP for the Belgian and no exit VP. A very interesting scenario where the Belgian player has to keep moving on.
