Overview:
As the 92nd US Infantry Division drove towards Genoa, in the north of Serchio valley, the 3rd Battalion of the 370th "coloured" Regiment made contact with the rearguard defending the city of Pontremoli. Trying to buy time for the retreat of both Landsers of 148.Infanterie-Division and the Bersaglieri of "Italia" Division, the rearguard decided to stand fast.
