Overview:

The French command reacted slowly to Rommel’s breakthrough at Avesnes. Taking advantage of the sluggish French reaction, the Germans refueled and rearmed their Panzers and on May 18th they advanced toward Le Catelet. Colonel Veron, given the task of defending the indefensible, prepared the small village garrison and the 9th Army’s headquarters staff to meet the expected German thrust. In the middle of the day, French recon units spotted their German counterparts advancing on Le Catelet from the north. A group of Panhard armored cars fought back against the lead units even as German infantry moved into position for an assault on the headquarters in the town hall. . .

2025-04-07(A) Seumas Hoskins vs Dean French win
2023-12-31(A) Shane Pask vs French winPoor tactics by the Germans and low rolls by the French left many AC (of both sides) destroyed before the infantry arrived. I thought it was all over by turn 6. However, after 7 VP easily exited the board (including both 6+1 who had planned to do nothing but run from the start), the rest had to make a stand in the HQ building. I managed to engage most of the remaining French in CC (including wounding the 10-2). If any of the melees had gone my way, I may have won. Final tally 13 VP for the French.
2020-07-16(D) Dave Mareske vs Dan Best French winI think this is tough on the Germans that have to get close to start mopping up the French. In this game the French ACs did admirably and left only one German AC (immobilized) by the time the infantry entered. The Germans really need a couple of ACs to help with mopping up.
2020-01-18(D) Tom Kearney vs Tim Deane French winWinter Offensive 2020. The German player was very aggressive but the French were very lucky.
2012-06-19(A) Martí Cabré vs Òscar Oliver French winDuplicate of 1st ed.
