Overview:

The night before, 13th Infantry Regiment had been reinforced by troops trained in the new anti-tech weaponry. Panzerfausts and Panzerschrecks had breathed new hope into troops who for some time had to contend with a heavily armored foe. Early in the morning a counterattack was supposed to begin a reversal of fortunes. On their right flank, another regiment would advance to straighten the line that IR 13 currently was holding a salient in. On the left flank, 14th Battalion would advance under cover of the woods, to facilitate an attack in the center. The IR 13 attack was meant to start directly after the artillery preparation. But at the end of the artillery's thunder, the Russians didn't stay dug in. They attacked.

2022-05-20(D) Andy Beaton vs Andre Escobedo Russian winCASLO 2022 - my worst game ever - got steamrolled and couldn't by a dice roll under 9
2022-04-10(A) Rich Weiley vs Dave Wallace Russian winHad the attacking Soviets in this one. Key moment came in turn 2 when a defending Finnish squad rolled a boxcars on a panzerfaust shot. Taking advantage of my good fortune I was able to break through with my Infantry through the C/D hexrows and push a KV around there as well. My opponent was backpedalling after this but continued to niggle away at my force, to the point where I was left with the bare minimum 4 squads to exit. Heart in the mouth moment was during the penultimate movement phase as I pushed to exit. The last possible defensive fire shot was a 1fp -2 which generated a 1MC. Fortunately for me on this occasion my dice were up to the challenge and I passed the check to secure the win.
2022-03-27(D) Ron Garcia vs Darryl M. Finnish/Swedish win
2021-09-21(A) Asad Rustum vs Jacob Elmqvist Finnish/Swedish winVery tight scenario. The Russians pushed through on the left flank opening up a path through the woods. In the end, the Swedish leader and three Swedish squads that were huddling in the lumberyard in 19J6, were with HE. The leader battle hardens to a 9-2 and a hero is created. They averted a VBM lockdown by burning a Russian tank with PF and saved the day by breaking the last Russian squad needed for exit on the last turn.
