Overview:
Operation Cobra was underway. The German positions south of St. Lo had been pounded by a massive Allied aerial assault. The Panzer Lehr Division had been shattered. Into this blasted and chaotic landscape were sent fast moving American units intent on seizing key objectives deep behind the German positions in order to trap any surviving German formations attempting to retreat or recombine with other German defensives. A CCA made up of the 41st Armored Infantry and tanks of the 2nd Armored Division headed south and encountered the first German resistance at Quibou, which made up the "Yellow Line" defenses of Panzer Lehr. Brushing aside the resistance, the CCA quickly passed through Dangy. After Dangy they hit the "Red Line" defense at Le Pont Brocard, which was defended by a small Kampfgruppe.Attacker: American (CCA Elements of the 2/67 Armored and 3/41st Armored Infantry)
