Overview:

Now that the war against the much-despised Japanese invader had been won. Chiang Kai-Shek knew he had to defeat the communist insurgency . With the Japanese occupation forces in China on the verge of surrender, Chiang hoped to execute a political masterstroke. He ordered the Japanese, along with the Chinese warlords who had served as their lackeys, not to surrender to the Communists but to instead retain their fighting capabilities as a means of "maintaining order." In this was, Chiang hoped to weaken the local warlords and the communist insurgency simultaneously. The Communists, meanwhile, had their own plans. Aware that time was of the essence, they launched an offensive in Tianmen against the unlikely alliance of Nationalist and Japanese forces.

2025-11-28(D) Dave Mareske vs Paul Works Nationalists winMy Nationalist lost initiative but that did not matter too much. There were a couple quick CCs that seemed to push the direction in the Communists favor, but the west buildings fell in turn 4 and my tanks went to support the East side. Eventually the East side came down to no Communists left as well as they tried to make a final push. CC, especially when we went HtH was very brutal, racking up lots of losses on both sides.

2022-06-04(D) Richard Jenulis vs Tycho Granville Nationalists winQuick fun little barroom brawl that starts with a bang. My initial thoughts were that the side who moves first will have the advantage. I'm not sure that it will always be fatal. The communist moved first and I was able to survive and push his forces out of the Northwest buildings. The Nationalists did not even try for the Southeast buildings. I was able to park a tank on the bridge and another in the stream next to the bridge. The Communist took to many losses to counterattack and called it early.
