Overview:

By the end of 1946, the communist insurgency in Greece had acquired new momentum following the establishment of a rival government, (the so-called "Provisional Democratic Government") With the Greek Democratic Army (GDA) as its military arm. By 1948, the communists controlled nearly the entire province of Kalavryta with the exception of the eponymous town at its center. Victory over the government forces in Kalavryta would enable the GDA to loot the town of the precious weapons and equipment stored in its warehouses. On April 11th, the communists launched their attack.

2022-08-06(D) Stephen dedier vs Dave Kocot Greek Communists (GDA) winI setup concentrating on the 2 hill buildings and limiting defenses in the other 2 including all my conscripts in the furthest building closest to the board edge.
It was a good fight with Dave massing his forces on one hill building and the middle building. My forces were pushed out of the hill with enough time for Dave to get some units down to assist his other troops and i lost the last 2 buildings in the final CC phase. Unfortunately, he bypassed the building i had set to defend with the mines and the INF gun. I made a blunder on the fortified hex forgetting that you must have a squad in the hex to keep the enemy from advancing and i had the crew with the MMG defending with a leader.
A good scenario with a lot of ways to play out.
2022-06-11(D) Richard Jenulis vs Brent Morris Greek Communists (GDA) winThe Greeks did not try to defend two of the buildings and consolidated their forces around the remaining two. The Communists ran through a wall of residual fire surviving -2 and -3 shots to close into CC and carry the day. A slow starting scenario with lots of end game action.
