Overview:

The Halt Befelh at the end of May didn’t stop the attacks on the Dunkerque pocket by German infantry. At the beginning of June, the pocket was still defended by several French divisions that, despite the losses, were still holding firm against German attacks. On the 2nd of June, a first counter attack was launched by one battalion supported by six Somuas. The attack managed to gain two kilometers but was stopped thereafter. Another attack was decided for the following day with all the troops available, namely only two exhausted infantry battalions and the last tanks of the 1ère Brigade Légère Mécanique. With the lack of coordination typical of French attacks in May, the attack was launched at the end of the night. The objective was to take the Basse-Colme bridge and so gain some space for the last ships.

2025-03-18(A) Pascal Boileau vs Jean-Philippe Rigaud French winVery nice scenario. Despite a good defense in order to slow the French, the Germans were finally overwhelmed in the last turn. The issue of the game was undecided until the two last CC.
2025-03-05(A) Ian Morris vs Ian Ainsworth French win
2024-09-01(D) Dave Mareske vs Paul Works German winA well timed withdrawal from the initial positions gave the Germans the win. The French tanks bogged once and failed to move a couple of times. There was one Melee that lasted six game turns. Slowing down the French attack is key. The French made a dash for the last two buildings needed, but were denied with defensive fire.
2024-09-01(A) Paul Works vs Dave Mareske German win
2023-10-14(A) Richard Jenulis vs Will Fleming German winThis game the dice frustrated me. A German 8-0, squad and MMG survived numerous encircled 16 firepower shots, then 1:1 CC, 2:1 CC, and even 3:1 CC finally to be eliminated by the end of the game. Another German Squad did the same. In the end the French were 1 point shy of a victory with the Germans rolling DR2 on -2 shots. Sure they cowered, but the KIA were worth it.
2023-07-06(A) Alan Krause vs Rob MacGinley French winGreat game vs. Rob as the defending Germans. Used the two tin cans to selectively VBM freeze a few stone buildings for subsequent capture via CC. Great game!
2022-10-22(A) Gerard G vs Laurent Tinture German win[Imported from ROAR]
2022-08-27(A) Stephen dedier vs Bill Pilon French winI pushed down the flanks with the French with the tanks on the left flank. I quickly gained position on the Germans and we slogged it out. Bill had all of his SW in the front with them minimum forces defending behind. With a tough fight i managed to take 6 buildings and eliminate 3.5 German squads and a leader by turn 3. In 3 Bill got some great work from his 37 knocking out both my tanks when the first required a turret hit and a 4 for a kill and he rolled a 3 then spun in a building needing a 3 TH and rolled snakes.
The French eliminated the leader in the 3 VP building in Prep/Rout and moved into CC with 3 squads to 2. Germans go the ambush but couldn't capitalize and the French eliminated the German squad.
With 3 turns left for the French to get 1 building and a 9 to 4 advantage for the French, Bill conceded. Fun game with a lot of options for both sides.
2022-07-06(D) Paolo Cariolato vs Federico Corso German winMy opponent fiddled too much with the main village and even if he took the H4 building on time (turn 4) in the end he had not enough points to reach the last building he needed to win (P9).
German Sniper was critical in killing his -1 leader and wounding another.
Without proper leadership the french have a tough time.
2022-03-25(A) Andy Bagley vs Mike Grogan French winVery interesting scenario; the German defenders have good-quality troops but have to split them between two village areas. Our game wasn't as close as it might have been, due to some German misfortunes. First my opponent miscounted and hadn't realised that (provided they take building H4 by turn 4), the French can win just by taking the northern village and building P9 - they don't need to progress any further south. Add to this the German leader in H4 going berserk and taking his squad with him into a hail of fire that wiped them out, plus the AT Gun and crew eliminated by a CH. By mid-game the Germans were forced to charge across open ground to try to recapture P9. This unsurprisingly failed, and the Germans conceded on Turn 5. I'd play this one again though.
