2023-05-07(D) Ron Garcia vs Darryl M. German (SS) winI played this a few times when ASL first came out but have no memory of it. I think the same thing will happen again as this playing wasn't very memorable as well. I came out on top with the Germans in a scenario where I did very little. I placed everything on the last fourth of the playing area guarding the two reentry locations and the graveyard. My friend exited four tanks at 21Y1 but rolled a 1. I had two squads off board so they returned in the exact same location. He pressed forward and I was able to dispatch four tanks with five PF shots and one of the 37L AT guns.

Pretty dull. I liked my friend's strategy to exit the tanks late hoping for a high reentry roll to end it without incident. Unfortunately for him, the roll of a 1 sealed his fate. As the Germans, I think setting up from the graveyard back is probably the way to go. If they set up too far forward, the Russians may luck out and totally bypass them making it hard for them chase the Russian tanks down. The downside of setting up so far back is one good reentry roll for the Russians could end the game without a shot being fired. Keeping two squads off is probably the best trade off since the Germans won't end up losing a leader for this. Finally, as the Germans, except for the obligatory 9-1/HMG combo in a 2nd level location, keep all your squads in the woods or graveyard hexes to avoid the +2 firing (or back blast) penalty. Sure, if you keep them in buildings you have a chance for Street Fighting, but I'd rather have the seven To Hit (motion/small target) and a sure kill versus the four (plus a possible ATMM) with Street Fighting.
2023-03-21(D) Nate Gregg vs Chris Gregg German (SS) winA fortunate LATW kill near the edge of the board ended with a victory!
2021-09-08(A) Nate Gregg vs Alan Lynott DrawAlan passed away before we could finish this scenario.
RIP Alan - 12.1.1971 - 9.8.2021.
