Overview:
Following the Romanian coup and defection to the Allies on 23rd August, fighting broke out between German and Romanian forces in and around Bucharest and Ploesti. As part of the German operations to secure the area around the capital and oil fields, small detachments of German Special Forces were to attack Romanian-held airfields and destroy the aircraft that the Germans had supplied to their former Axis partner.Attacker: German (Fallschirmjäger-Bataillon "Brandenburg")

2024-03-04 | (A) Shane Pask | vs | German win | I had heard that the PK scenarios were poorly balanced but was spending a week in a hotel room so packed them to play solo on the trip. German startup engaged as many of the Romanians in melee as possible including 1 gun. They won 3 CC including capturing an AA gun. Another AA gun malfed and eventually disabled. By game end, 8 gliders (including one friendly) were destroyed and 1 damaged by small arms. Even a HS managed a kill with small arms. Romanians only managed 3 CVP.

2024-02-25 | (A) Peyton Spreacker | vs | Brandon Dega | Romanian win | The Germans came in hot (literally), destroying three gliders in turn 1. The Romanian units struggled initially with the German fire power. It looked pretty grim for the Romanians. However, the Germans activated a Romanian big sniper which honed in on a stack of German units: a 9-2 leader, a full squad, and two half squads. On the random selection die roll, four "6" results were rolled. (This is about the same probability of getting struck by lightening). The leader died, the men initially broke, and the subsequent LLMC resulting in catastrophe for the Germans. The full squad reduced and with some good foresight, the remaining half squads were forced to surrender to the Romanians. From here, the game was pretty much over, with another battle in the factory resulting in more captured Germans. There was no path to victory for the Germans from there and ultimately, the cracked Romanian sniper saved the day.

2023-08-11 | (D) Martí Cabré | vs | Josep Maria Cassani | Romanian win | The Germans started in Melee but took only one of them, taking a Romanian gun, the other Melee lasted two turns, also they lost a half squad moving in the open. Then the other two Romanian guns broke down, leaving the runway spaces open. With the Romanians I pushed hard on the Germans and in close combat I manged to kill another half squad. Meanwhile the 4 DC had blasted 4 planes and with rifles they blasted another one, for 10 VP. But then a German squad got broken, reduced and eliminated by the paratrooper reinforcements, giving the Romanians 4 CVP. With one turn to go and needing 3 more VP, the Germans conceded. This scenario is chaotic and dicey but it is also fun.

2023-01-26 | (D) Neal Ulen | vs | Scott | Romanian win | Full AAR here: https://asl-players.net/asl-aar-reckless-raid-pk2/ We played half this scenario then stopped because we had questions about if Germans accumulate CVP to add to their glider VP, and what parts of E1.54 (in SSR 4) apply. Perry answered, it's in the Gamesquad "Perry Sez" forum. Anyway, we made a few adjustments to our progress and finished, and it was close. Germans had 12 VP, Romanians 4 CVP. But the Germans had no other opportunity to get more VP (last turn), so we ended it. I have mixed feelings about this scenario. But definitely different, with a very interesting premise. But E1.54 (or a portion of it?) only applying to the Germans was strange. I guess they are supertroopers? I dunno, before playing make sure you both agree on how the VPs accumulate and how SSR 4 works (or see the Gamesquad post), because it wasn't crystal clear to us.
2023-01-15 | (A) Dan Best | vs | Kermit Mullins | Romanian win
2023-01-15 | (D) Kermit Mullins | vs | Dan Best | Romanian win | Turn 1 was pro-German with some good hits on the Romanians. But some Melees went unresolved which tied up half-squads with DC's. The Romanian reinforcement came in and overwhelmed the Germans and by Turn 5 only a single 5-4-8 with an LMG was left. 5 Gliders were destroyed, but the Germans had lost 11 CVP. Tough fight all the way around.
2023-01-13 | (D) nathan wegener | vs | Randy Shurtz | Romanian win | Fun for what it was. Game depends on some key rolls. Back and forth with the dice. I was able to surround the German remnants in the hangar and hold the win. |
