Overview:
As a Jewish teenager growing up in WWII Hungary, Tibor "Teddy" Rubin and his entire family were sent to the Mauthausen Concentration Camp by the Nazis. There he developed a knack for survival, acquiring the nickname "Little Rat." When finally freed by GIs in 1945, the young Rubin made it his goal to repay the U.S. Army after emigrating. In spite of being undersized and not knowing much English, Rubin was able to enlist on this third try, and quickly found himself in South Korea with the 8th Cavalry Regiment. With the North Korean 3rd Division charging hard towards the Naktong River, Rubin was ordered to remain with a weapons cache as rear guard to cover his company's withdrawal towards Taegu. In his foxhole, with a machine gun and extra ammunition, the "Little Rat" waited as the sound of battle approached.Attacker: North Korean (3rd Division)
