Overview:

When the Chinese forces entered Burma, they were tasked with defending the routes north and into the Shan States. 200th D/Brigade under Major General Tai An-lan had the responsibility for the defense of Toungoo and its airfields. As his men fortified the city, General Tai sent a force along the river road to the south to hold up the advancing Japanese. On the night of 20 March, the Chinese troops were forced from their initial positions in the village of Nyaungchiduak by a fierce assault, falling back to a covering force at Oktwin village. The Japanese pursued and fell upon the positions the morning of 22 March, where they found the covering force well dug-in and ready for action.
Attacker: Japanese (2nd Battalion, 112th Infantry Regiment, 55th Infantry Division)

2025-02-21(D) Dan Owsen vs Will Fleming Japanese winWill made clever use of banzai charges to advance through the tough terrain and I had some rough breaks of squads and SW, resulting in a Japanese victory.

2024-11-04(A) Douglas Leslie vs Eric Partizan Eric Chinese winFun scenario but difficult for the attackers. Eric correctly appreciated that the lynchpin for the Japanese defence is the I7 hill, since the Japanese will have to capture at least one hex there irrespective of where they direct their attack. He put the heavy mortar there together a squad led by his best leader manning an MMG. I decided to go for it early and try to take down the MMG position. Japanese infantry and DC heroes charged the position with the benefit of some smoke cover but couldn't break the position. The Japanese made decent progress to the south but ultimately just failed to clear the southern hills.
2024-10-29(A) John Garlic vs Mike Grogan Japanese win
2024-10-14(A) Dave Mareske vs Paul Works Chinese winOne CC went very badly for the Japanese and the Chinese tanks made it difficult. Still the Japanese were able to capture 17 hill hexes on turn 6, but the Chinese were about to push them off 4, with little infantry left to retake any of the positions. It was a good game that went back and forth. I think giving the balance to the Japanese gives them anti-tank capability.
