Overview:
As the Commonwealth retreat continued, their forces made stand after temporary stand in front of the Japanese advance. One such position was at Kyaukse where, as defensed were being prepared, patrols were sent out to find the enemy’s leading elements. A reconnaissance by the 7th Hussars discovered a column of five Japanese tanks—escorted by at least a company of Japanese infantry—making its way up the main road to Kyaukse. A hasty ambush was quickly thrown together, and two platoons of Gurkhas with anti-tank support were dispatched to a suitable location a couple of miles south of the main line of defense.Attacker: Japanese (41st Infantry Regiment)
Defender: Commonwealth (Gurkha/British) (1st/7th Gurkha Rifles and 95th Anti-Tank Battery, Royal Artillery)

| 2026-08-28 | (D) Douglas Leslie | vs | Steve Cook | Commonwealth (Gurkha/British) win | FNF game. The Gurkha gunners were deadly here. Four tanks were eliminated and one was shocked in the first MPh and that was game over, The Japanese need to be a bit circumspect here and try to keep a couple of tanks out of sight until the infantry have cleared the way for them to advance. | ||
| 2026-08-28 | (A) Paul Legg | vs | Juan Santacruz | Commonwealth (Gurkha/British) win (VASL Log) | 1 hrs | Friday Night Night - A lesson in how not to attack as the Japanese. It was all over in the DFPh of the Japanese 1st turn. 9 TH rolls, 7 hits, both misses with rate, 1 hit was a multiple :- all resulting in a possible shock(passed), 2 shocks and 5 kills( 1 burning). | |
| 2026-08-28 | (A) Grant Hewitt | vs | David Goldman | Commonwealth (Gurkha/British) win | FNF game. David put up an excellent defence and I resigned in turn 4. The Japanese suffered the loss of 3 AFVs and the Gurkhas amassed enough CVP that I wouldn't have been able to get the difference below 18 and exit enough infantry off the north edge. | ||
| 2025-08-14 | (A) Dan Best | vs | Dave Mareske | Commonwealth (Gurkha/British) win | 1 hrs | ||
| 2025-08-14 | (D) Dave Mareske | vs | Dan Best | Commonwealth (Gurkha/British) win | Dan ran his tanks within view of the 40Ls and four were destroyed on a successful IF shot and ROF from the other. A squad immobilized the last one in CC making it impossible for the Japanese to gain victory. It was over quickly. |
