Overview:
The American 9th Armored Division had penetrated the German XV Army line by nine miles. At 0600 on March 7th, Lt. Karl Timmerman, commander of A Company, 27th Armored Infantry Battalion, was informed he would be the advance guard for the whole task force, would have the assistance of new Pershing tanks, and his objective was the town of Remagen. Defending Remagen was a depleted company of the 80th Infantry Regiment consisting of 36 men with a few 20mm and 37mm anti-aircraft guns located in the town, near the bridge and on top of Erpeler Ley.Attacker: American (Company 1/27th Armored Infantry Battalion and Company A/14th Tank Battalion, 9th Armored Division)
