Overview:
"Teutonic Fury" -- On 3rd August, to the surprise of the Germans who had considered them weakened, the Voronezh and Steppe Fronts launched a major offensive north of Kharkov. It took the Russians three days to begin to crack the German defenses and get their tanks through the breaches. The attackers were also slowed down by General Manstein throwing in armored forces, hoping to encircle them and annihilate them as he had in March, but this time it was the Germans who were weakened and scattered. However, heavy fighting did take place, especially around the village of Bogodhoukov, northwest of Kharkov.
