Overview:

Chiang Kai-Shek had built up an awesome army around Shanghai and its surrounding provinces. His army totaled 71 divisions with a strength of nearly 500,000 men. This army contained several elite divisions that were trained by German advisors and contained the best equipment available. The Chinese significantly outnumbered Japanese forces in the area; however, the Japanese had the edge in training and quality. The Japanese edge was put to the test on 8 November when the 10th Army attacked the Chinese in the city of Sung Kiang. For nearly three days the battle ebbed and flowed as Japanese forces with their armor support, armored cars, attempted numerous times to breach the Chinese defenses. The Chinese threw their own armor into the struggle to hold back the Japanese juggernaut and raise the morale of their own troops.

2024-11-05(A) Johan Vrijdaghs vs Guerra Guido Chinese win
2024-05-22(A) Pascal Boileau vs Laurent Tinture Chinese winA very interesting scenario. The Japanese failed almost everything (banzai charge, smoke attempt and even CC) whereas the smart defense orchestrated by Laurent was very efficient. Therefore it ended well for the Chinese and very badly for the Japanese !
2023-08-09(D) Jobbo Fett vs xs-bombing Chinese winA close game that was betrayed by a slight lack of movement. The Japanese were quite unfortunate in never getting any smoke for their mortars, and not being able to get close enough to use WP without breaking or otherwise suffering losses. A concerted push on the left side of the maps was able to penetrate deep into Chinese territory, and my aggressive forward defense meant nobody was left to stop XS from grabbing buildings for free. The vehicles battled eachother, but lucky hits from both sides eliminated almost all of them. The embanked railroad made things tricky in the rear, both in terms of LOS and for movement and a theoretical 9 out of 11 buildings could've been captured by the last Japanese turn. My guns were poorly positioned and did nothing all game, though their invisible presence helped keep a flank quiet the entire match. Great game vs my opponent!
