Overview:
Some German cities were determined to go down fighting. One such city was Aschaffenburg on the River Main, under the command of Major Von Lambert, a fantical SS commander. He organized local SS, Heer, and civilians in defense of the city. Captain Eddie Spears, now adjutant for the 157th, flew over the city dropping leaflets, that read surrender or else. The ultimatum was ignored, and for the next nine days, Aschaffenburg was reduced to rubble. The struggle for the town would see the first use of napalm against German civilians. Thunderbird veterans of the Italian campaign would soon call this "Cassino-on-the-Main". . . . . Get your blaze counters ready as the 157th Infantry attacks this enemy-held town with a reinforced infantry company with a flamethrower, M4A3(75)w's, and fighter-bombers with napalm. German partisans with MOL capability will make this hot for the Americans.Attacker: American (157th Infantry Regiment and 101st Tank Battalion, 45th Infantry Division)
