Overview:
General Yamashita, commander of the Shobu Group, 14th Area Army was determined to clear the road to the city of Manaoag. This objective was tasked to the Shigemi Detachment, 2nd Tank Division, with infantry support from the 23rd Division. Shigemi’s counterattack against the Americans consisted of a group of several tanks and supporting infantry from these two units. The main obstacle to the Japanese counterattack was the small barrio of Potpot. The 103rd Infantry Regiment defended Potpot with 37mm anit-tankguns, M8 armored cars, and tanks.Attacker: Japanese (23rd Division and Shigemi Detachment, 2nd Tank Division, Shobu Group, 14th Area Army)
