Overview:

Two platoons of Kompanie 2 of IR 409 had flown into the Cholm pocket by glider in early March to help augment KG Scherer. For these men that remained alive and combat effective nearly two months later, May Day saw them in some of the bitterest and closest fighting of the nearly 100 day old siege. May 1 opened with a massive Soviet artillery barrage. For 1st Platoon of Kompanie 2 under Lt. Stenzel stationed in the Red Ruins at its commander, the Russian lines was less than 40 meters away and once the barrage had lifted, it was not long until Russian grenades rained down amid his positions in the ruins and cellars. Worse the defenders could catch glimpses of Soviet tanks rumbling past them on the rampage.

2024-03-12(A) David Garvin vs Mark Chapman German winThose pesky Germans! His mortar was the all-star, immobilizing my T 60s and then of course he knocked out my KV 1 in CC. I was able to get a foothold en route to the prison; however, I ended up not being able to reinforce it. His ELR of 2 only came into effect once; I wasn't causing enough MCs to make it matter. Great fun!
2021-12-04(A) Paul Legg vs Peter Catchpole German winFirst playing of anything from this pack. I hedged my bets and setup to threaten both victory conditions. In hind sight this was an error and I feel would be better concentrating on the block 31 one.
2017-04-11(A) Ian Morris vs Gerard Burton German win
2017-03-04(D) Tom Abromaitis vs Chris Edwards German win
2017-01-22(D) Allen Evenson vs Richard Jenulis Russian winRussians took the Prison on the final turn, Germans had a small chance to take it back but couldn't do it. We both thought it was a good, well-balanced scenario.
