Overview:
Brazil’s entry into the war in late 1944 barely allowed them to get troops to the front in time to participate. Among the Allies, Brazil’s participation was about as likely as snakes smoking. However, the Allies vowed to breach the Gothic Line before the end of the war. The main axis of attack was to be at the mountain town of Montese, but the commander of the 10th Mountain Division was reluctant. Commander de Moreas, of the BEF, volunteered. It was to be the last opportunity for the Smokin’ Cobras to make a difference in the war.Attacker: Brazilian (Elements of 1st BEF (6th RCT))
