Overview:

As the vast Soviet forces encircled Berlin, 1st Belorussian Front under Marshal Zhukov was given the “honor” of capturing the Nazi capital. 8th Guards Army and 5th Shock Army jockeyed for positions as they drove through Neukölln towards Tempelhof Airport and the bridges across the Landwehr Canal. On the morning of 26 April, General Krukenberg ordered a counterattack by SS-Panzergrenadier-Division 11 “Nordland” – whose two panzergrenadier regiments had been reduced to the size of battalions. The counterattack was supported by the King Tiger tanks of Nordland’s SS-Panzer-Abteilung “Hermann von Slaza” and the recent addition to the division of the remnants of SS-Grenadier-Division 33 “Charlemagne” – whose 330-some volunteers had followed Krukenberg into Berlin.

2019-05-13(A) O Ramaille vs German (SS) winA heavy ASLSK scenario with 20 Russian Elite squads and 4 permanent AFVs against 12 SS and conscripts German squads and 4 AFVs. The German defended in an intermediate position and held the position quite a few turns. The Russian tanks launched several assaults against German armor, and while suffering heavy casualties (a total of 12 AFVs were turned to wrecks), they finally got the last word. The Russian OBA did not provide great results due to the lack of effective LOS to the enemy alone. The German defense to the west broke and the Russian dashed towards the objective building. A few surviving German defenders (in fact French volunteers) resisted close combat in the last turn preventing a Russian victory.

The scenario calls for 10 628 squads, while only 6 are available from all SK products. The same for the 10-2 Russian leader. You will need counters from Beyond Valor, old Squad Leader boxes or wait for a potential errata in future MMP products.
