2021-11-02(D) Kermit Mullins vs Dan Best Japanese winIntense game as Dan's Americans came up the road and along the east edge. My MMG fire land blunted the initial drive up the road. Then the Americans hit Panjis on the east flank. I managed to knock out the first Sherman with a two tank ambush. Dan made some progress towards the middle of the board, but then a mortar immobilized a second Sherman. After that the American infantry were being broken too frequently to keep up the attack. By the end of Turn 4, Dan's Americans were too far away to exit enough points, and so a Japanese wiin.
2021-11-01(A) Dan Best vs Kermit Mullins Japanese win
2021-05-30(A) Jason Nichols vs David Garvin Japanese win

(VASL Log)
Second round of IR Tournament. I played the Americans. David did well in sighting his hidden tanks and panjis. I lost one tank early and couldn't score a hit on the Japanese tanks. Hindrances, TEM and a burning wreck didn't help.
The American infantry pushed through on the left flank and succeeded in killing off some of the defending infantry. By the time the Americans had killed off the two Japanese tanks and were able to push through in preparation for exiting it was turn 5 with only one movement phase remaining and still one hidden Japanese tank to deal with. The Americans needed everything to go well on the last turn to win. However the last Japanese tank was revealed when it ambushed my Sherman and set it ablaze, killing the riders as well. Game over!
Well played David. Good luck with the next round.
2021-05-30(D) David Garvin vs Jason Nichols Japanese winDuplicate reporting for my own personal record.

I thought for sure that Jason had me, but my last tank (with AL) took out a Sherman at Point Blank, setting it ablaze and securing the win for me.

2021-05-25(D) Richard Webb vs Morris Legge American winRound two of the Illuminating Rounds Tournament. I lost too a quad and a half early on, but pulled back into the game with an effective ambush killing 2 of the 3 tanks) Morris managed his infantry very well, and was picking me off a position at a time. Last turn was crazy, but too little too late. Well earned US Win.
