Overview:

The Independent State of Croatia contributed to Hitler's East Front crusade by loaning the 369th Reinforced (Croatian) Infantry Regiment to the Wehrmacht. Known as the 'Croatian Legion', the regiment was operating in support of Army Group South in the Ukraine. On October 3rd one of the regiment's officers, Hauptmann Vasilije Maljgin, noticed that armed men were hiding in the woods around the village of Stary Sanzhary. The 11th Radfahren-Kompanie (bicycle company) and an attached Reiterzug (cavalry platoon) were ordered to reconnoiter and clear out any enemy troops. The bicycle company approached the village from the west while the cavalry came from the northeast.

2021-08-21(D) Kermit Mullins vs Dan Best Russian winGame started off tough for the Croatians as they broke early and often. Two Croatian half-squads were killed by their prisoners and 12's killed another 3-1/2 Croatian CVP. By the end of Turn 4, the 8 CVP cap was reached and it was game over and a Russian win.
2021-08-09(D) Richard Jenulis vs Brent Morris Russian winThe Croatians started strong eliminating a squad and capturing another. Interrogation revealed the commissar when the conscripts all pointed their fingers at the boss. The civilians did not talk all game (rolled a lot of 5's on weather change DR). The two NKVD HS stayed hidden until near the end of the game. This is a fun quick and interesting scenario. There were a lot of melees. I like the Russians in this one.
